Our Story

We love the warmth and joy that candles create, but are saddened by the fact that most vessels aren’t recycled, most big name candles are made from paraffin (a petroleum byproduct), and many fragrance blends contain known toxins that can pollute your home and poison your pets.

We believe true luxury should be sustainable, ethical, and unique! That’s why we started Mugxury!

We hand-select mugs from estate sales, thrift stores, discontinued designs, wholesale liquidations, antique shops, discount retailers, donations, seasonal clearance, etc. to give them a new life. We inspect each mug and perform water & flame tests to ensure they’re candle-safe. 

We then create clean, long-burning candles using 100% renewable soy wax & lead-free braided cotton & paper wicks. Never any paraffin, parasoy or petrochemical wax blends!

Our luxurious fragrance oil blends and dyes are non-toxic, skin-safe, pet-safe, phthalate-free, and CA prop 65 compliant. This is very important to us, as we pour each and every candle in our own home - both we and our pets are breathing these scents daily!

We design each and every Mugxury candle to match the mug’s personality. Each candle is poured by hand in Nashua, NH in small, limited-edition batches.
